Looney Boxes has responded to the growing demand for recycling by launching
Harvest Recycling in Downtown Phoenix. This facility processes materials
collected from both residential and commercial construction sites, significantly
improving landfill diversion rates, which now exceed 70%. Harvest Recycling is
dedicated to recycling 75-80% of all construction and demolition debris that
Looney Boxes works with, transforming it into reusable products and
commodities.
The facility accepts a variety of materials, including concrete, dirt, rock, floor tile,
cardboard, plastics, metals, drywall, granite, countertops, wood, and green waste.
These materials are sorted by both staff and automated equipment, and once
processed, they are sent to specialized facilities for reuse. However, Harvest
Recycling does not accept food waste, hazardous materials, medical waste, tires,
oils, liquids, sewage, or flammable substances. The combined efforts of Looney
Boxes and Harvest Recycling help municipalities and businesses recycle efficiently
and economically.
